This beautifully finished oak tissue cover has been constructed with the utmost care and personal attention to detail. WOOD SPECIFICS:
This item is made from solid Texas Flat-sawn Oak. No plywood, veneers, or substitute woods are used unless specifically listed. The natural wood and deep grain are typical of oak and add those little touches that veneers can’t duplicate. This is a one-of-a-kind product as no two finished items will be exactly alike due to natural deviations in the wood used. This item is STAINED with an ebony stain that will make the piece a black color while still allowing the underlying wood character to show through.

MATERIALS:
This item is made from solid oak, Titebond III waterproof wood glue, ebony stain, and satin waterborne polyurethane. All listed materials are non-toxic and FDA approved as food safe.

CONSTRUCTION:
The oak is from non-dimensional rough lumber milled down to 1/4 inch thickness in my shop. All my wood is stored until the moisture count is less than 10% so that warping and/or cracking won’t occur over time (not for outdoor use). The box construction uses perfectly cut fingered box joints all the way around and will not come loose over time (see pictures). The top is glued long-grain to long-grain to ensure a superior, heirloom durable bond.

FINISH:
The finish procedure is an application of black ebony stain, 2-3 layers of super blonde shellac to seal the wood from moisture and give it a light ambering color, then 4-8 layers of waterborne satin, furniture grade, polyurethane to make them bathroom durable, sanding in-between layers to ensure a perfect finish quality. All my finishes are non-toxic and FDA approved as food safe.

DESIGN:
This cover is bottomless and simply slides over the tissue box. It is heavy enough not to allow the box to slide around and will not lift when you attempt to pull a tissue out.
